Le Raj will be launching an Apprenticeship Programme in partnership with NESCOT at our new state of the art facility based on campus in Epsom Downs, the Le Raj Academy will be play host to the UK’s aspirational new generation of chefs offering a new a work-based learning programme that allows people to gain an NVQ qualification whilst earning a living and gaining invaluable experience.
The Le Raj Academy apprenticeship enables anyone aged 16 and over to learn our profession in the catering industry, our scheme follows an ‘Apprenticeship Framework’. This means that alongside our students’ technical certificate in their chosen subject they also develop additional skills, such as in ICT, Maths and English.
The Le Raj Academy apprenticeship does not last for a fixed length of time, it ends when all necessary elements have been completed. Most last around 3 years.
A combination of on-the-job training at our Le Raj academy kitchen and college learning in a variety of subjects, leads to a nationally recognised qualification called an NVQ (National Vocational Qualification). The experience gained from studying an Apprenticeship improves future curry chefs employability, providing the invaluable technical knowledge and experience required for the ever-rising demand of the curry industry.
